Here are the final, official results of the Gabriola Hatiti Benefit Concert:
Humanitarian Coalition: $6,000
Doctors Without Borders: $6,500
Canadian Foundation for the Children of Haiti: $3,606
Donation to a specified charity: $1505
Sub-total: $17,611
Matching Federal Funds: $17,611
GRAND TOTAL: $35,222
Cheques have been issued to the charities listed above.

Concert for Haiti tops $30,000
Thanks to all for putting our island’s Haiti earthquake support over the $30,000 mark (with Federal matching funds included). A wonderfully generous response from our tiny island to theirs!
Here’s the latest financial report from Jim Ramsay:
Now that all the cheques, bills and change have been counted up, the results are as follows:
Total donations (including $1,505 to specific charities, not deposited to our bank account) $15,492. The silent auction portion was about $4,500.
The allocation of these funds to the three charities will be approximately as follows:
Humanitarian Coalition $6,000
Doctors Without Borders 6,000
Canadian Foundation for the Children of Haiti 3,000
I will write letters to the three organizations as there are specific aspects to the $1,505 referred to above that require explanation.
Everyone concerned can be well satisfied with the tremendous response of our caring community!

Thanks to everyone who helped make Sunday’s Haiti Benefit Concert a Huge Success. The fine folks of Gabriola raised more than $14,000 at the event — matched by the Feds to make it more than $28,000.
More results to come, as Silent Auction results are tallied.
Thank you one and all — organizers, performers, supporters and attendees. Your generosity will be put to good and effective use in earthquake-torn Haiti.
